URGENT: ACTION REQUIRED 2026 Session

Veterans and disabled Veterans, the reality is this bill is not being moved forward.

Kansas House leadership, Speaker Daniel Hawkins, is choosing not to advance a meaningful exemption for disabled Veterans. The message being sent is essentially that if you can work, you do not need support beyond a handshake and a thank you.

That approach is short sighted. Many states provide stronger incentives and protections for disabled Veterans, including benefits tied to property taxes that directly improve stability and quality of life.

Missouri has already pre filed six bills focused on Veterans benefits and property tax relief. Kansas is shelving the single Veterans bill carried over from last year. That contrast should be a wake up call.

Please contact Speaker Daniel Hawkins and respectfully push for Kansas to support disabled Veterans with real action, not just words.
