2025 Legislative Session: Disabled Veteran Property Tax

Veterans and Advocates,

Today marks the start of the 2025-2026 legislative session, and we are reaching out to highlight House Bill 2005, a vital measure we will be supporting and advocating for.

About House Bill 2005:

This bill proposes a refundable tax credit to reimburse 75% of the actual property taxes paid on a primary residence for veterans who are:

100% disabled, or

Permanently and Totally (P&T) disabled, or

Rated as Totally Disabled due to Individual Unemployability (TDIU).

While this approach may not be ideal, it effectively addresses constitutional concerns associated with direct exemptions while still providing critical financial relief.
